What is Doug's WILD Ride?

Doug's Wild Ride

I'm out to do it again. Two years ago, I finished a solo bike ride across the USA, from “sea to shining sea”, Portland to Boston, to prove that I could meet the challenges of Parkinson’s Disease head on.

This year, I've notched it up a bit.  I will confront the wilderness of Alaska on a solo bike ride from Anchorage to Fairbanks - Uphill all the way - Camping out with the bears - Proving to myself and others that Parkinson's Disease won't stop me from meeting life's greatest challenges.

When I return home, I will host a Bike Tour in the greater Cleveland area offering both competitive cyclists and casual riders with an opportunity to ride for PD. The tour will include a family ride of 10 miles, as well as full rides of 25 to 50 miles and a competitive hill climb.  Entrants will have an option to solicit donations to support their ride and compete for prizes based on the total amount they raise to support Parkinson’s research. Entry fees will include rest stops, SAG support and a post-ride lunch with live music.

To register or for more information, contact me at DougsWildRide@gmail.com

You don’t have to face the wilderness of Alaska to support me and my quest to inspire patients with Parkinson’s Disease and raise money for research.

You can make a donation now at http://support.pdf.org/netcommunity/dougswildride2010

Your tax deductible donation will benefit the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation and the Davis Phinney Foundation, both 501 c(3) charities.  You will receive an e-mail and letter confirming your donation.
